The Shackled City
Son of Cauldron Nobility in the Service of the Saint.
This man has seen better days. His face and hands are filthy from days or perhaps weeks of isolation in this stony prison. His shaggy blond hair is greasy and unkempt. His eyes look haunted, and he twitches periodically, cringing away from something unseen. He is still arrayed in his paladin finery, which is in just as bad a shape as he is. He stares at the light provided by his magical longsword and mouths silent words.

Alek Tercival came from a noble family in Cauldron who fell on hard times. When his parents died broke, he clung to the Church of St. Cuthbert, where his childhood friend Jenya Urikas did what she could to help him rise through the ranks and eventually become a paladin of that faith. He would go out on missions for the church hoping to earn a name for himself and restore his family’s honor.
Tercival was duped by a covey of greenhags working with the Lord of the Demonskar Nabthatoron, and became a pawn in their efforts to sow chaos in the village of Redgorge. Once he was of no further use, they tricked him into traveling through a magical mirror portal, which led him to the abandoned vault of a Spell Weaver ruin hundreds of miles away in the middle of the desert.
The Silver Phoenix Adventuring Company followed his trail and eventually made their way to where he was kept, but a few hours after they discovered his impromptu cell, the demon lord appeared and slew the paladin, laughing about the imminent doom the paladin’s actions had brought upon Redgorge.
Apparently, while Silver Phoenixes were adventuring on Occipitus Alek Tercival came back from the dead and publicly renounced his claim against Terseon Skellerang, the act that had brought Cauldron’s wrath down upon Redgorge in the first place. This act has caused an uneasy truce to remain between the two towns, however Tercival has not been seen in Cauldron since this event.
