Mizuki is fairly tall for a woman and has long black hair, typically kept pulled back at her neck. She’s of medium build, though quite strong for her size and appearance. One of her most striking features is her eyes. They may be black like the rest of her families, but with the added uniqueness of golden flecks throughout. Her family took that as a sign that she was meant to do great things in lifetime.

Mizuki was raised in a small farming community. Only a small percentage of the men in the area knew how to wield a sword properly, let alone owned one. Her family was not like the rest, though. They were the protectors of the community. Everyone in her family over the age of 13 was expected to go to battle if the community was attacked, and all were trained at very young age to be able to wield swords. This is where Mizuki’s training was focused. She was taught the code of Bushido and trained in the martial arts: her family’s variation of Kendo. Due to her actual interest in learning the art, she quickly rose to be the top trainee at the age of 7.

Weaponsmithing (of swords in particular) was a trade that only her family had picked up generations earlier and had perfected. Mizuki’s 0lder brothers were expected to follow in their father’s footsteps and learn the trade, as well as they’re other martial training. Mizuki, on the other hand, was never expected to pick up the trade, though she did learn some from watching her brothers during their weaponsmithing training. When her father and brother’s where not at the forge, she took it upon herself to begin making her own swords. While they were not top of the line, her father was impressed at the quality of swords made someone that hadn’t been trained in the craft.

At the age of 10, Mizuki began showing some interest in learning about the outside world. Some travelers from the mainland arrived to explore and learn about the culture of the island. While visiting her community, Mizuki asked them many questions about their travels and had come to find out that they were from the city of Cauldron. After that, Mizuki began going with the caravans to the other communities on the island for trading purposes as their bodyguard. To protect the community and their inhabitants was her family’s duty, and with her added interest in travel, she was the ideal person to act as the convoy.

On the day of her 15th birthday, Mizuki’s village was attacked by invading marauders. In the name of duty, her family went to battle. The young children and enfeebled were taken to the hidden underground storehouse, and anyone over the age of 12 went to defend the small community with their lives. The Gotuh’s were finally able to fend off the marauders, but not without consequence. During the bloody battle, the lives of several of Mizuki’s family members were taken. After inspecting one of the bodies in the aftermath, Mizuki discovered an item that could only have been obtained from the city of Cauldron.

Several years and many arguments with her father later, Mizuki finally left the island. Though she insisted that it was only to learn about the rest of the world, her true intention for leaving the community was to discover any information regarding the marauders that had invaded her homeland.

Physical Attributes: 5’8”, 143Lbs, long black hair (down to her lower back), Black eyes with golden flecks, medium build.

Personality: Tends to keep to herself and doesn’t talk a whole lot. However, she does have a way with words and can convince just about anyone of just about anything. She’s fairly light-hearted, but has a underlying mistrust for people that look shady and can usually tell when someone is lying to her or trying to cheat her. She’s typically calm, cool, and collected, and doesn’t scare easily. She knows there are many things in this world that she has not seen or experienced and tends to try new things with eyes wide open.

She believes strongly in the code of Bushido and will die protecting anything or anyone that she has sworn to protect. She however, will not throw her life away foolishly. She does not believe that the world is simply black and white. There may be good and evil people in this world, but she is not one to judge. She tends not get involved in other’s disputes or affairs unless it is something she feels she can not turn her eyes away from.
